HISTORY WALK AND TALK AT EAKRING

Mompesson window Eakring

Our first history walks of 2025 will be in the historic village of Eakring. The village is famous for its links to Rev Mompesson, the ‘plague parson’ of Eyam. See where he preached, outside of the village, and the myths surrounding the ‘pulpit ash’. Discover the mysterious ‘Eakring Flash’ and dip down into a dumble or two….Don’t know what a dumble is? Come and find out. We will also explore the historic church.
• Two dates – Sat 17th May and Sat 24th May (10am)
• Duration approx. 2.5-3hrs.
• Walking distance approx. 3 miles, some short sections of field path
• Cost £8.50 per head, includes contribution to Eakring church
• Coffee and cake available for donations
