Why not join us on Saturday 1st July for our tour from Worksop, Retford and Gainsborough to the historic chapels at Monksthorpe (Baptist) and Raithby (Methodist).
- The remote Monksthorpe Baptist Chapel is the only one cared for by the National Trust. Visit this wonderful site, enjoy a brief commemoration with a Baptist minister, and maybe try the outdoor baptistry for yourself!
- Raithby Chapel, built in a farmyard, was the first purpose-built Methodist chapel and was commissioned by Robert Carr Brackenbury – a great Methodist in his own right
- We will also visit the extraordinary tomb of the Duchess of Suffolk at Spilsby (weddings permitting)
The tour will pick up from Worksop, Retford and Gainsborough. Lunch is NOT included as the plan is to picnic at Monksthorpe. Cost is £17 per head.
